Another race, another motor...

GOZIGEN-USA2007-07-16

I am sorry, I haven't updated Go-Zigen USA blog for long time.

Today, I like to introduce an example of race activities from one of FN01R-C users.
Here is a report of Super Lap Attack qualifyer 7/7-8, from one dedicated team, Berk Technorogy.

Another race, another motor...

After getting to Willow Springs (big track) and running 2 laps the Berk Technology MR2 Turbo was black flagged for smoke. We brought the car back into the pits and the problem was diagnosed as a bad front crank seal. The car was driven immediately back to Berk Technology in Irvine, CA to pull the motor out. A HUGE thanks to Aaron Muramoto for being the ultimate trooper and pulling the motor to fix the oil leak. Motor was out, fixed, and dropped in within 8 hours. Not an easy thing to do on a mid engine car.

The car was on the trailer and back at the track by 8AM the next morning. Sunday was a bit more relaxed than Saturday but we had continual overheating issues throughout the day. We were able to make every single session, battling some very fast competition each round. Unfortunately we did not make the top 3 as planned but we have another SuperStreet Qualifier in October to shoot for. Hopefully the cooler temps and new motor will treat us better that weekend.

Again, thank you guys for the support! None of this can happen without you guys.

Yours truly,

Bryan, Laura, Laurie, & Jeff
