FORMULA DRIFT FINALS @ IRWINDALE

Well-known 5ZIGEN wheel user, International Allstars Powered by Mazda competed in Formula-D final round at Irwindale CA, October 11. It was the first time in the major drift competition for this marketing company based drift team.
Allstars booth was one of the most popular booths in this event.

The team entered two MX-5 drift cars.
They picked Hiromi Kajimuma and Alex Phifer for this event.
The result was unfortunately not good.... However, I believe the team got a lot of feedback in this weekend.
Alex proceeded to top-32 competition on Saturday even though this weekend was his first time driving MX-5 with almost no practice. He proved his drift performance is still high, even he has been staying away from competition and judging last two years.
Hiromi, a popular female driver from Japan, could not qualify - needed more seat time to learn the unique character of MX-5. Also, she said that she needed to be familiar with left hand drive drift techniques.
Team still have to learn drifting, the cars were still under development.
However, the drivers and crew did good job in the hard conditions they had.
At least, we saw the possibility and the potential of MX-5 as drift car.

Hiromi was busy to help promoting Allstars and their sponsors including 5ZIGEN, of cause.

Many drift fans lined to get Hiromi's autograph.
"My shoulder hurt because I autographed a lot - not by drifting. Hehehe. It was fun and precious time for me to see fans." said Hiromi, "I really want to come back here as an Allstars driver and compete again."

Mazdaspeed gals had photo sessions all day long at Allstars booth.

Allstars' own models also had a busy day to promote their sponsors - Mazda, BF Goodrich, Eclipse, Sparco, etc. Promoting and marketing is their sanctuary. Even after their competition was finished, Allstars were non-stop.

"Lunner time" (between Lunch and Dinner) in the Allstars' RV.

Time for packing up - Pat and Eric worked on the car.
Hoping they could perform better in next event.
And, we are still waiting for you to show us the group-drift by the three MX-5s!
