SCCA Solo National

GOZIGEN-USA2009-03-24

I drove down to San Diego to see auto-cross Saturday March 22.
I haven’t watched auto-cross for long time…

The event I went to see was SCCA Solo National held at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego March 21 & 22.

Auto-cross is the one of the most accessible motorsports for everyone who likes racing.
It is the safest and least expensive motorsports that beginners can learn all basic skills of racing with your daily drive car. We recommend auto-cross for all 5ZIGEN users who are interested in motorsports but haven't tried yet.

The course was made with pylons in the parking lot of the stadium.
It is like "race course with no stright." Highly modofied cars get 55 seconds in this technical course. The ST class EF Civics, like this picture, get around 58 - 60 seconds. Even small power, low modified cars can beat big power cars, if you are good!

An FN01R-C user from Arizona shares course and car condition to his co-driver, even before taking off his helmet!! You can share one car with a co-driver in solo.

Bridgestone broght big trailer to promote their products and support the users.

There are many classes depending on the level of modification.
Even you don’t have a car prepared for the auto-cross, SCCA staff will find a class suit with your car. You can start from there and modify your car to be competitive in the class, if you like it.
