Driving Academy with Dai-chan!

It was nice to spend a Sunday with racers under blue sky.
The first Dai's Driving Academy was successfully taken place at El Toro field, Irvine, CA, May 3rd.
It was really nice event for beginner drivers to learn basic skills of driving with a lot of seat time. Friendly, no pressure atmosphere was also good for beginners. And, as a 5ZIGEN salesman, seeing people enjoy driving motivates me to work harder!!

Daijiro "Dai" Inada shows high speed drift in front of old hanger. El Toro is an abandoned airport used by US Marine Corp. This air station was closed 1999 and opened for car testing, auto-crossing, etc. This is a motorsports sanctuary in Los Angeles area.

50+ cars participated and enjoyed driving with full throttle at the big field.

3 courses were prepared for drivers - low speed drift, high speed drift & high speed grip.

Mr. Inada is a VIP among performance and race industry in Japan. But, in the Driving Academy, he spent time with us as a friend, not a celebrity driver.
Even Daijiro-san himself changed tires, strapped the car to the trailer, drove the tow vehicle!!

At the low speed drift class beginners could practice basic skills, e-brake turns, donuts turn, figure 8, etc. all day long.

High speed courses allow drivers use 4th gear!

JDM Gear Mini Arcade - JDM Option, INGS, CUSCO, D-MAX, SUN AUTO and 5ZIGEN had tents and introduced their products to races, but most of the time we just watched cars, talked about cars... Anyway, all vendors had good time!! Thank you for everybody helped me for setting up and packing up. I could not work today without your help!!

"Did everybody have fun today?" Dai gave final advice to drivers at end of the day meeting. "To improve driving skills, the most important thing is practice, 2nd is practice and 3rd is also practice!" We all thank Daijiro-san for giving us good lecture all day. Also thank event staff,including Hiroshi-san for setting up such a nice event! I really like to have more 5ZIGEN users in the driving event like this and enjoy the cars!
