GOZIGEN-USA2009-10-21

Super taikyu Round 7 was held October 11 at Sendai Highland Circuit.
5ZIGEN NSX obtained another victory of ST-3 class with pole to win finish. This is the 2nd win for us since Round 5 at Fuji Speedway in the rain. At the present, Team 5ZIGEN leads the championship with this victory.
We are sorry but we haven't upload the report until today. Now, I got pictures and brief race report from 5ZIGEN Japan staff as following.

5ZIGEN Allstars occupied the top of the podium again!!

5ZIGEN NSX started from the pole position. However, the NSX which always has balance problem at the full tank was passed by FINA ADVAN M3 in the opening lap. Team 5ZIGEN starting driver, Katsuyuki Hiranaka struggled with the bad handling NSX. Hiranaka had to battle with TRACY SPORTS AY-DESIGN ADVAN NSX (Kota Sasaki), KYOSHO Makers RX-7 (Naohiro Furuya). It allowed FINA M3 to spread the gap between these cars battling the 2nd position. Then on lap five, Hiranaka was passed by Sasaki as well.

It was happened in the lap 25 - the class leader FINA M3 had suddenly gone away. The shift linkage problem attacked to the M3 and it was not allowed M3 to return to the pit. By this DNF, the dream of FINA M3 team was broken that to climb up to the rank top.
Meanwhile, TRACY SPORTS NSX came out on top of the class. However, the new class leader could not escape from a trouble as well. "A tire burst when I was about pitting next lap" said Sasaki. Sasaki reached to the pit somehow, but when he returned to the course, TRACY NSX dropped its position to fourth.

5ZIGEN NSX, which have been improved the car balance after the gas was consumed, led the class from lap 51. Once 5ZIGEN lead the race, no one could pass 5ZIGEN NSX. By completing a perfect relay from Hiranaka to Hiroki Yoshimoto, and to Hiranaka again, Team 5ZIGEN got another victory of the ST-3 class since their first win at the Fuji round. Now, 5ZIGEN challenges to the final round as the top ranker.
Second place was obtained by KYOSHO RX-7. TRACY SPORTS NSX passed the goal line as third place.
