5ZIGEN EG Civic

I like to share some pictures of old-school Civic. This car is the first road race car 5ZIGEN USA supported. The team owner as well as the driver of this car was Sam Higashi, Japanese has lived in Los Angeles. He raced in NASA (National Auto Sports Association) Honda Challenge H1 class in Southern California region from 2003 to 2006.
今日は、ちょっと懐かしいシビックをご紹介。　このクルマは5ZIGEN USAが始めてサポートしたロードレースカーです。　チーム・オーナーであり、ドライバーのサム・ヒガシ選手はロサンジェルス在住の日本人。　彼が2003年から2006年まで参戦していたのはNASAホンダチャレンジH1クラス（南カリフォルニア地区）。

A shot from 2004 NASA 25-hour enduro race. Endless was the title sponsor of the team from 2003 to 2005. The unique point of this car is using 17-inch tire which is rare for road racing Civics (15 or 16-inch usually). Toyo Tire selected Team Higashi for entrusting long term test of performance of Proxies RA-1 205/40-17 under the actual race conditions. For the project, the forged FN-01R 17x7.0 was selected by Higashi.
こちらは、2004年のNASA25時間耐久レースでのひとコマ。　エンドレスさんが2003〜2005年のメインスポンサーでした。　このクルマで特徴的なのは、ロードレースでは滅多にない17インチタイヤを使用している点 （通常シビッククラスだと15か16インチ）。　これはトーヨータイヤが新しく開発したプロクセスRA1の205/40-17サイズの長期実践テストのパートナーにチーム・ヒガシが選ばれたため。
　

In 2006, 5ZIGEN USA became the main sponsor of the team. After tough four years of battling in Honda Challenge, Higashi finally obtained SoCal Honda Challenge, H1 class champion in this year. JP’s Visage front bumper and side skirts were suited in this year and gave evolutional look on the car. The photo was taken in a post race season time attack event, Super Lap Battle at Buttonwillow November.
2006年には5ZIGEN USAがメインスポンサーに。　ホンダチャレンジ参戦、苦節4年。　ついにヒガシ選手が南カリフォルニア・ホンダチャレンジH1チャンピオンを獲得。　ジェーピーさんのVisageバンパー＆サイドスカートがこの年には装着され、見た目の進化形に。　写真はレースシーズン後の11月にバトンウィローで行われたタイムアタック、Super Lap Battleの時に撮影されたもの。

5ZIGEN USA has been supporting many of grassroots racers and drifters since then. We hope new stars appear in this year from the drivers races with 5ZIGEN!!
それ以来5ZIGEN USAでは多くのアマチュア・レーサー、ドリフターをサポートしてきました。　今年も5ZIGENと共にレースをしているドライバーの中からスターが誕生するといいですよね!!
